Introduction:

The Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor Private Security Industry (Refresher)

Who it's aimed at?:

Learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

Duration:

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 21 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum contact time of 11 hours and 15 minutes (2-days), with additional self-study prior to the course starting. The self-study materials are provided along with comprehensive guidance on completion on confirmation of course booking.

Syllabus:

Key topics include:

  • Terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat
  • Actions to take in relation to global (or critical) incidents
  • Physical interventions and the implications of their use
  • How to reduce the risks associated with physical intervention
  • How to conduct effective searches
  • Factors that can make someone vulnerable
  • Understanding a security operative’s duty of care with regard to vulnerable people
  • Safeguarding techniques in relation to spiking

 

Certification:

Based on the SIA’s own specifications and updated (October 2024) to meet the latest requirements, it has been developed by Highfield, the leading awarding organisation for security qualifications and written by some of the country’s leading security experts.
